Rome, 27 January 2009 – Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV), Italy’s foremost private operator in the high-speed rail passenger transport sector, has announced MaIS S.p.A.’s entry in the company’s share capital with the acquisition of a 5% equity interest. MaIS S.p.A., an industrial and financial holding, is controlled by Isabella Seragnoli.
Isabella Seragnoli is also chairperson of the industrial group Coesia, which manufactures automated packaging machinery. This group includes G.D. S.p.A., a world leader in cigarette production and packing technology.
Luca di Montezemolo, NTV chairman, commented: “With the entry of MaIS, after that of Bombassei, NTV welcomes another family of purely private entrepreneurs, leaders in the manufacturing industry. This completes the group of shareholders, which already includes a major bank, a major insurance company and a strong industrial partner”.
