Italo attends the 54th edition of TTG

Rimini, 13 October 2017. Italo’s winter season is full of news starting from the coming into service of the new Italo EVO trains presented in Rho Fiera Milano on 3 October during Expo Ferroviaria 2017. Italo EVO is a state-of-the-art train: the most modern train in Europe in terms of aerodynamics, sustainability and comfort. 480 seats – subdivided in Club Executive, Prima and Smart sections – LED lights, USB ports at every seat and a new self-service counter with an aerodynamic style in the Club Executive section including a great selection of coffee capsules and mini snacks for one’s coffee break, to give travellers all they need.

With its 12 new trains – the first 4 into service from December 2017- Italo will increase its services and open new lines

Indeed, Italo Evo will allow the current AGV575 to improve the Rome-Milan line; the line between the two towns will have one train every 30 minutes during peak hours; services will increase from 40 to 50 a day, thus also no stop trains will increase, passing from 15 to 20. This will give greater choice to the many business travellers who every day move from the Capital city to Lombardy’s main town.

Italo EVO will bring important news also for Venice, doubling its connections with south Italy, passing from 8 to 16.

Apart from the increase in services, 2018 will bring new lines: we will have a line between Turin and Venice passing also from Milan - thus connecting all North-East Italy in 3 hours – and the town of Bolzano will become part of the NTV network.

Italo’s winter news does not only foresee the coming into service of Italo EVO and the increase in services, but also a new advertising campaign still with Francesco Pannofino as testimonial. The actor will continue to play the part of a “particular” traveller in amusing sketches with the train staff. In this occasion, Pannofino will be together with a young traveller who will want to know everything about the train he is travelling on and will continue asking him questions on Italo. The spots will be on air starting from 15 October and will briefly explain the many news Italo has for its travellers.

However, the news does not only regard trains as Italo’s travel experience starts already when you get into the station. That is why we have made the new exclusive Lounge Italo Clubs, areas dedicated to our best clients, full of all kinds of comfort: wi-fi, newspapers and magazines, news in real time, hot and cold drinks, snacks, fresh croissant and gourmet sandwiches by Vyta Santa Margherita, all associated with the assistance of Italo’s staff. Next winter will foresee a new lounge in Venice Santa Lucia station and the moving to the new striking panoramic terrace in Rome Termini station, overlooking the railway.

The growing process also foresees new staff. Indeed, since the beginning of 2017 the company has been selecting and training young staff to work on board or in the stations as well as opening new vacancies. We foresee a total of about 160 new employees and during this edition of TTG, Italo recruiters will be available to make possible candidates get to know the company and become part of the NTV team.

Marco De Angelis, NTV Sales Manager, stated “Italo now represents a consolidated reality in Italy, appreciated both by leisure and business travellers. The continuous introduction of new services shows how Italo is focused on the needs of its travellers and on the requests coming from the market to fulfil the needs of all travellers who choose to use our trains. All this work is also linked to our collaboration with Travel Agencies with whom we have established a continuous relationship that has brought benefits to both parties”.
